DR. NORRIS: I started my medical training in Oakland in New Zealand and then moved to Sidney in 1992. and I actually started my training as a general surgeon and completed that. And then following that started plastic surgical training. When I finished my plastic surgical training I very fortunate to be invited to be a consultant at Addenbrookes Hospital in the United Kingdom, Cambridge. I was there for almost two years. And then having finished that I returned to Sidney and was fortunate enough to be asked to join Silkwood Medical by the director here, Dr. Warren Nettle.
What I really enjoy about practicing as a plastic surgeon is the variety of the work that’s involved and the opportunity to interact with a large number of patients whose goals are all different. Even though I do about 30 different types of operations on a regular basis, no two of those operations are ever the same because the patients are different. And that’s what I most enjoy about it.
